Windows Aero, a graphical user interface and theme, has added magic to Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows server 2008 operating systems. But Microsoft has made an announcement denying the appearance of Aero in Windows 8. An acronym that stands for Authentic, Energetic, Reflective and Open, AERO could not create the same diabolism as it was supposed to. However, the themes, pleasant interface, efficiency and other features attracted the users a lot, which were much better than the previously released theme ‘Luna’ and the features led to Windows Aero install rapidly as users were eager to see it on their computers. The users who already had it did a fast Windows Aero upgrade to enjoy the new features. If we talk about Aero in Windows Vista, it has undergone a major overhaul. In the post, we have mentioned great features as well as some drawbacks of Windows Aero in Windows Vista.
Features
Glass Effect
The Glass effect also known as transparency effect has some magnetism that attracted users the most. Animations, reflections and translucent window frames offer something interesting to the users. It provides different colors; you can change the color of Windows. Also you can create your favorite color by using color mixer.
Windows Flip
The Windows flip feature is just ‘wow’ that Aero has brought to Windows Vista allowing you to cycle through all open windows by pressing [Alt+Tab]. The feature is much nicer than that of the previous versions that included thumbnail and icon of the window.
Windows Flip 3D
Flip 3D feature provides a three dimensional view of all open windows along with the desktop. You can cycle through all open programs by pressing [Windows+Tab]. This feature is even more efficient, attractive and enjoyable.
Live Taskbar Thumbnails
One greater feature, Live Taskbar Thumbnails shows all the running applications and active operations in the taskbar. You can see the content of a window by just hovering mouse over it in taskbar.
If you are not able to enjoy any of the above features in Windows 7 or Vista, then it is the time to take help of expert technicians at third party Windows Aero Support.
Drawbacks
Availability
Only four of the five product editions of Windows Vista consist of Windows Aero, these are Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions. On the contrary, Windows Vista Home Basic is not equipped with Aero. The users working on Home Basic experience Windows Basic user interface that has the same navigation and features but lacks visual experience of Windows Aero.
Hardware Requirements
The minimum hardware requirement for Windows Aero is 1 GHz 32-bit processor, 128 MB video RAM with DirectX 9 class graphics processor supporting Windows Display Driver Model Driver, 1 GB RAM, Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware. So if you have one of those four Windows Vista editions that provides attractive Aero interface, make sure your system is capable to display it. We think this is a major drawback having an array of constraints to enjoy the features of Windows Aero.
With boasting attractive features, users may face some Windows Aero issues. In order to resolve them, users are invited to opt for online third party Windows Aero support. This is economic, efficient, easy and effective.
Summary
Windows Vista with effective features was a bang among computer users and became even more efficient due to user interface Windows Aero that provides cool features to the users who have the capable systems. And the term ‘capability’ became a drawback for Windows Aero.
